America's Royal Family...The Kennedys

                                                     The Kennedys
Last night as I was flipping through channels on TV, I came across The Kennedy's Home Movies on TLC. Of course at the time I wasn't sure what the title was, and therefore was wondering where all of this footage of the Kennedys was coming from. It weirded me out a little bit because after returning from New York (I have NEVER been so tired in my life) I lounged in my bed and watched Oliver Stone's movie JFK for 3 1/2 hours. Anyway ever since I watched this movie, I have seen more stuff about the Kennedys on TV than in my entire life! However, despite the fact that I can’t seem to get “away” from the Kennedys, I really recommend looking into TLC’s schedule and watching this 2-hour program. It’s really interesting and I was fascinated by all the “behind-the-scenes” footage.  For those of you who are not already enthralled by the Kennedy’s story I recommend reading the book The Kennedy Curse by Edward Klein. It’s sad all of the tragedy, scandal, etc. that this family has gone through.
On top of all of this I’m waiting on pins and needles for The Kennedy mini-series with Katie Holmes to come on TV! I wish a network would just buy it already…with as much drama surrounding the series you know it’s going to bring in tons of viewers!!

Today in kateland...

I'm dreaming of the finer things in life.....
Although I would look ridiculous in this dress by Lanvin, it reminds me of a cupcake and a present all rolled into one!

If you can't tell from the pictures below I have sparkly, shiny things on my mind...like this Haute Hippie skirt.

And warm weather....I love these Giambattista Valli shorts!

I'm lusting after these Brian Atwood pumps!!

This Chanel outfit isn't exactly my style...but after watching Live With Regis and Kelly this week all I can say is for those of you living in New York in that dreadful snow....RUN TO YOUR CLOSEST CHANEL BOUTIQUE AND BUY THIS WARM COAT! (and please do smile when you wear it, I mean it is Chanel for goodness sake! and homegirl above looks like maybe she doesn't appreciate the finer things in life...someone should take her down a notch or two)

Once again in kateland I'm wearing this lovely Chanel outfit because it's always warm....

And below are a few of my Harry Winston rings that I switch everyday in kateland unless I'm feeling fancy and I wear them all......

Happy Thursday!!

Movies

So I have seen two movies recently that I just have to recommend: Country Strong and No Strings Attached. I will be the first to admit that I'm not overly harsh on movies, and can enjoy MOST movies. That being said I highly recommend these two. And although I love Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson I wouldn't recommend How Do You Know.

                                                       Country Strong

I LOVED Country Strong!!! It was one of those movies that while I was sitting in it, I was hoping it would never end. It has gotten some bad reviews, but I couldn't recommend this movie more. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Kelly Canter, a country star making a comeback after rehab. She does a great job with the singing and acting, and as you probably expect she looks beautiful the whole movie! (She also gets to wear some pretty fabulous jewels...) Tim McGraw, who I must say has really shown off his acting skills with this and The Blind Side, plays her husband and manager. Then of course there is Garrett Hedlund who plays Beau Hutton, an upcoming country music star. If you go see this movie for no other reason go check out how hot he is. Then of course my favorite Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester, does a great job as Chiles Stanton, a beauty queen trying to rise to fame. I thought that everyone did a great job with their acting, and was so impressed with all of the singing! I immediately came home and downloaded a lot of the songs.

Favorite songs from the movie:
1) Give Into Me by Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester (you would probably like it without seeing the movie, but you will love it even more if you know the background!)
2) Coming Home by Gwyneth Paltrow
3)Words I Couldn't Say by Leighton Meester
4) Chances Are by Garrett Hedlund

I went to this movie expecting something similar to Walk The Line. I was expecting a chick flick with good music. However, there were some unexpected twists that made this movie much more of a drama then a romantic comedy or even chick flick.

                                               No Strings Attached

Ashley and I went to go see this on Sunday, and once again I was expecting a chick flick. Well this movie was better than I was expecting and it was so funny! I think guys would enjoy it as well because there is a lot of crude humor. Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher both do a good job and they have AWESOME on-screen chemistry. (I think that was one of the major things missing in How Do You Know) This movie is basically about two friends trying to keep their relationship purely physical and the complications that go along with that. It is really funny...Ashley and I were laughing so loudly within the first 2 minutes that people were looking at us. (Maybe we were just hungover??) But I do recommend this...especially to you Caroline Parker because I know you are probably thinking you are too good for it and it looks stupid...but quit being cynical. It's right up your alley with all that crude humor "Hot Carl."
This may be my favorite scene...Ashton makes a "period mix."

Also another one of my favorite scenes.

If you are looking for a movie that's not very intense or serious, I recommend this one. It's really funny and it's a really cute love story.

Happy Wednesday!!
